October 6, 2026 Great British Care Awards The Bridge Care Home’s New Minibus! We’re absolutely delighted to introduce our brand-new minibus to The Bridge Care

We’re thrilled to share some incredible news from The Bridge in our latest care home newsletter! Find out what’s been going on this summer!
The Bridge Care Home in Dartford is conveniently located off the M25 and it is easily accessible to families and friends traveling from Bexley, Sidcup, Gravesend, Greater London, Essex and Kent. Whether you’re just a short drive away or commuting from nearby areas, our care home is perfectly situated to serve families across the region.
We offer residential care and residential dementia care. We do not offer nursing care as we do not have nurses or medical staff onsite for higher medical needs. The care we provide within our home is supported by District Nurses, the Complex Case team and the local GP which every resident is registered with, even temporarily on respite.
We offer residential dementia care and have catered tailored our home and activities to cater to dementia residents. Our dementia floor is specifically designed with icon signage to assist residents navigating around the home. We have included design elements like memory boxes outside all dementia rooms with corresponding coloured doors so that residents can easily identify their rooms. Our events team puts together a comprehensive monthly schedule with specific activities for dementia residents. This includes sensory activities such as our Magic Table which allows residents to play different interactive games, sensory sessions and musical entertainment.
Short term respite care is available at our home and is an excellent way of trying out the home before becoming a permanant resident. Respite care can also supplement care at home and provide carers with support or a much needed break. Our respite care starts from 2 weeks and can be extended depending on availability.
Our fees start from £1875 per week. The fees are dependent on resident needs and also room allocation. For instance, a residential room with a private patio area could cost up to £2000 per week. We are all inclusive so there are no hidden fees on top of the room price quoted. Weekly fees can increase if the scope of care changes. Residents have to show proof of funds prior to admission but in the event that a resident run out of funds during their time at our home, we liaise with social services and negotiate a rate.
All inclusive means full use of all our facilities including our Bistro, which includes friends and family for light bites and a variety of beverages. All activities and trips are included, plus use of our Salon, Nail Bar and Chiropodist if they are attending whilst your loved is staying with us. We also have our Fine Dining room which can be booked in advance for up to 10 people, including the resident, to celebrate those special occasions. This is a 3 course meal designed by our chefs with full table service. The only things that are extra costs are things such as ear care, eye care and dental. Toiletries are not included as they are obviously personal to every individual and people have their favourite brands so families do need to provide these as well.
Groveland Park has been rated GOOD by the CQC. A full report can be found here: https://www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-18665449965
All rooms are en-suite, with a toilet, basin and shower with grab rails. Rooms are fully furnished to a high standard. Duvets, pillows, bed linens and towels are also provided, but residents can bring personal items such as photographs, ornaments, pictures and small items of furniture. We do however need to retain some discretion, especially with regards to fire safety, safe moving and handling. Some rooms are fitted with patio doors that lead out to the garden area. We also have dining rooms, lounges, a beauty salon, a cinema, a bistro [a gym, a spa] and outside space for our residents to use.
Pets may be brought into the Home with prior written agreement of the Manager.
We have an in-house events team at our home which organises events on a monthly basis to cater to a variety of resident needs and interest. This includes activities in the home such as arts and crafts and musical entertainment and also trips to museums, restaurants and areas of interest. We are also involved in our local community and organise school visits to the home, charity events and weekly church trips. If residents have a particular interest or hobby, they are encouraged to get in touch with the events team – any suggestions for outings or events are welcomed.

Visits are welcomed and encouraged. There are no restrictions on visiting. You may wish to entertain your visitors in the privacy of your room or in the public communal areas. Should your visitors wish to have a meal with you, please notify the Reception team. No charge will be made for the entertaining of any visitors. However, we do request that all visitors sign into the home on arrival and departure. This register is kept at Reception.
Please get in touch with our team either by phone or email:
It does depend on the care needs of your loved one and our room availability on the relevant floor. We do an assessment up to 2 weeks prior to the residents preferred admission date to ensure we can meet their needs and confirm where they would be suited. We cannot book any stays in advance, but we find working backwards for the date of requested admission is the best way to know if we will have a room available. We can add people to our enquiry list and do regular keep-in-touch calls weekly or monthly to check in leading up to the requested admission date.
Respite care offers you the peace of mind knowing your loved one is well-cared for while you enjoy the Christmas break. It’s also an excellent opportunity to experience our care home firsthand, ensuring it’s the perfect fit for your loved one’s long-term needs.
